1. Let your phone do it
Every phone now offers a memory or highlight reel made from what is in its own library. It is free, it is instant, and for a weekend away it is often enough. Its two limits are real ones: it can only see the photographs on that one phone, so a trip taken by four people is a quarter of a trip; and it decides what a memory is rather than you.
2. Make it yourself in a slideshow or video editor
A timeline and a set of templates, usually free or close to it. You gather the photographs from everyone, sort them, drop them in, time them to music and export. What comes out is a travel slideshow or photo montage, and for a set of stills that is exactly the right word for it. It suits people who enjoy editing and have the material already in one place. The job it does not do is the collecting, which is most of the work.
3. Pay an editor
A person watches your footage and makes something considered out of it, which no automatic process will match at its best. You still gather everything, write a brief, wait for a cut, ask for changes and wait again — and you commit money before you see it. Worth it for a wedding or a once-in-a-decade trip; heavy for a week in Bali.
4. Have it collected and finished for you

Ask everyone for their originals rather than what arrives in the group chat. Your questions, answered
How many photos do I need?
There is no minimum. As a rough guide, a three-minute film sits comfortably on somewhere between sixty and a hundred and twenty photographs plus a handful of clips — but a trip with thirty good pictures makes a shorter, complete film rather than a worse one.
Will it use all of them?
Not necessarily, and that is the point of a film having a length. You choose how long it should be and the edit works to that, selecting and pacing from what you gave it. Nothing is deleted; it is simply not all on screen.
My photos are on a computer, not a phone. Is that a problem?
No. The link opens in a browser on anything — phone, tablet or computer — and you add files from wherever they are.
Do screenshots and photos of photos work?
They will go in, but they carry the date you took the screenshot rather than the date of the thing in it, so they can land in the wrong part of the trip. Originals are always better where you have them.
Is it an AI video maker?
No. There is no AI in the part of Videmory that makes your film. It reads the dates your camera already wrote into the files, sorts them, paces the photographs, trims the clips, mixes the music and cuts the film to rules that were written and tested. Nothing is generated and nothing is invented: every frame is something you photographed or filmed.
