Contributor terms

What you agree to when adding photos and videos

You do not need an account and you are not being charged. These terms explain what happens to the files you add to someone else’s project.

Last updated 3 September 2026.

Your permission to upload

Before uploading, you confirm:

I have the right to upload these photos and videos, and I have the permission required from the people shown or heard in them to include them in this film.

If somebody would not reasonably expect or want a photo or video included in a shared travel film, leave it out.

For children, make sure you have permission from a parent or guardian where required.

How your uploads are used

Your files are added to the project you joined and used to create its films.

Videmory may read the capture date and location saved by the camera, along with technical information needed to organise, check and edit the files.

Your uploads are not sold, used for advertising, or sent to any third party to be analysed or used as training data.

Not every file will necessarily appear in a film. Unusable or repeated files may be left out, and a Highlight Film selects the strongest material to remain within six minutes.

Who can see your contribution

The organiser can see the files you upload and can decide what is used in the film.

Other contributors cannot browse or download your uploads. They may see your display name and the number of files you added.

Anyone with the private link or join code can join the contribution page, so do not forward it without the organiser’s permission.

Your display name

The name you enter is visible to the organiser and other contributors. It may also appear in the film’s end credits.

You can use a familiar name such as “Mum” if that is how the group knows you.

Changing your mind

You can exclude your own uploads from the film while the project is open.

If you need a file removed completely, contact us with the join code and enough information to identify your upload. You do not need the organiser’s permission to contact us about your own media.

The organiser can also delete all uploaded memories or the entire project.

One thing worth knowing: once the organiser has bought a film, the project’s uploads are settled and can no longer be changed. Ask before then if you want something taken out.

Storage and privacy

Uploaded files are stored and processed using Google Cloud services. See the Privacy Policy for details about information collected, storage locations, retention and deletion.

What you must not upload

Do not upload anything you do not have the right or permission to share. The complete rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy.
