No. They open the private link, enter a display name and upload their photos and videos. There is no app to install and no contributor account or password.

Yes. Phones are usually easiest for camera-roll uploads, while computers work well for camera cards, GoPro footage and folders of original files.

Try to send the originals. A copy that has been through a messaging app has usually lost the date the camera recorded, and a screenshot never had one. Videmory works around that where it can — it ignores a date that is plainly the day the file was forwarded, and it can name a place from the shots either side — but the original is the one that always lands where it should.

No. Contributors can manage their own uploads but cannot browse, download or remove anyone else’s photos and videos.

They may see the display names of other contributors and how many files each person added.

Up to 1,000 photos and videos per trip, shared across as many contributors as you like.

That is a maximum rather than a target. A long trip with a group on it will reach a thousand files without trying, so the useful instruction to give people is to choose — the shots they would want to watch again, rather than everything the camera happened to record.

Open the same link and continue. Videmory keeps track of the files that arrived, so they do not need to be uploaded again.

Yes. The organiser can exclude an uploaded photo or video before the build starts. The file stays in the project, so it can be included again if you change your mind.

Contributors can also exclude their own uploads.

Yes. The organiser can open a clip and select the section worth keeping, so a long video becomes the part that matters. If no section is chosen, Videmory selects one itself.

Yes, and you can drop it as well. Left to itself Videmory keeps sound worth keeping — someone talking, someone laughing — and mutes the rest, but you can set any clip to keep its sound or lose it.

Contributors can mark themselves as finished, so you can see who is done and who has not been back. Nothing gets built while uploads are still arriving, and you decide when to close the collection.

Yes. The title card and the closing credits sit over one photograph from the trip. Videmory picks one; you can pick a different one.

It depends on how many photos and videos were uploaded and how long the video files are. The files need to be checked, edited and encoded, so larger trips take longer.

You can leave the project while it is building and return to check the progress.

From the Free Music Archive — several hundred tracks by more than a hundred different artists, all released under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. You pick a mood and the film picks the track, and whoever wrote it is named on the closing card.

If the first soundtrack does not suit the trip, you can try another before paying. Soundtrack changes are free.

A version combines a film length and an aspect ratio: Full-length or Highlight, in 16:9 landscape or 9:16 vertical.

Introductory launch offer: your first finished film is AU$49 and each additional version is AU$15. Introductory pricing is available for a limited time and may increase in the future.

The Full-length Film is what your trip makes by default: everything that passes the quality check, in the order it happened, for as long as that takes.

The Highlight Film is the shorter one — the strongest moments, never more than six minutes. It is the version people forward to each other, and it is only offered when the full film would run longer than that.

Because below a certain amount of material the two would be the same film. The Highlight is capped at six minutes and the Full-length is not, so if the whole trip fits inside six minutes both come out identical — and selling you the second would be charging twice for one film. Your trip makes the Full-length in that case, and the Highlight appears once there is more material than six minutes can hold.

There is no simple file count for this, because a few long video clips reach the threshold faster than a great many photographs.

There is no fixed running time. It depends on how much usable material was uploaded.

Choose 16:9 landscape for televisions, computers and standard video players. Choose 9:16 vertical when the film will mainly be watched on phones or shared vertically.

You can order both formats as separate versions.

It is a technical check carried out before editing. Files may be left out if they cannot be opened, are clearly unusable or are near-duplicates of another shot.

Nothing is dropped silently. Every file you sent is accounted for, and the count is shown while the film is being built.

Yes. It is the complete edit with the real order, cuts and soundtrack. The preview is shown at a lower resolution with a watermark. Paying unlocks the full-quality version without it.

Not always. Unusable or repeated files may be left out by the quality check.

The Full-length Film includes everything that passes that check. The Highlight Film makes a tighter selection so it can stay within six minutes.

A full-quality MP4 without a watermark. It is a normal video file that you can download, back up, play on a television and share with the group.

The purchased film also remains available from My Projects during the hosting period.

No. Buying settles the project’s memories: once a film has been bought, nothing further can be added, removed or re-trimmed.

That is deliberate, and it is what makes another version the same trip in a different cut rather than a different film. Collect everything you want first, then buy.

Yes, while the original uploaded memories are still available. Each additional version costs AU$15, and it is built from the same settled material.

Buying another version extends the project’s film-hosting window to 30 days from that purchase.

If you choose Delete Uploaded Memories, no further versions can be built because the source files are gone.

You see the complete film before paying, so please watch the preview carefully. If the paid file is broken, does not match the preview or has another fault, contact us.

Refunds are handled version by version: refunding one leaves any others you bought untouched. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law still apply.

There is no public gallery or feed. People need the private link or join code to contribute, so only send it to people you trust.

The organiser can see all uploads. Contributors can only see and manage their own.

Yes. After purchasing, choose Delete Uploaded Memories. This removes the original uploads and working files but keeps the purchased films, previews, sharing and downloads until their expiry date.

You will not be able to build another version after doing this.

Yes. Choose Delete Entire Project to remove the uploads, films, contributor details and project links. Download anything you want to keep first, because the deletion is intended to be permanent.

Not yet. Videmory Travel is the first available film type. Other types are planned but are not currently for sale.
